Versatility

LG Famous style and attention to the details

It did not take to many rides for me to decide the Louis Garneau Glaze 2 Jersey $99.99 USD msrp as on of my personal favorites for on or off road cool weather riding because of its versatility. Is it a jersey or is it a jacket? The versatility of the Glaze 2 is possible from the design that make the best use of two fabrics LG’s Extenz 3L with breathable, waterproof and wind breaking capabilities is used on the front of the main body and leading edge of the shoulders, arms and out side of the extended collar. Whereas the Vertexx fabric that is lightweight very breathable and a comfy brushed inner surface retains body heat is used on back of the body, trailing edge of the arms and with the inside of the collar. Of course LG attention to the details is evident throughout the construction with very strong double flat lock seams. To test them I pulled as hard as I could and not a single one pooped, the flat lock seams also reduce chafing and irritation while maintaining the wind and water repellency a standard single or double stick would allow through. To round out the quality construction are very nice wide wrist cuffs made from the Vertexx fabric are very comfortable, a 20mm wide inner zipper flap to maintain the wind and repellency with Zip Garage to house the zip pull and a silicon logo gripper around the hem of the jersey keeps things tidy. Then top it off with some really cool graphics in a classic red and my favorites are the two styles I requested from LG being the subdued style of the Iron Grey and the FLUO Orange that really pops without being euro-trash gaudy.

Wearing the Glaze 2 Jersey is like getting the best of both from a light-weight wind breaking jacket and a mid-weight long sleeve jersey. I found the LG Glaze Jersey 2 worn with a basic base layer suitable for conditions 25-50 degrees F dry and 30-60 F damp/wet pretty much covers the range right here in the rocky mountain front range for late fall to spring time. Paired with the Course Elite Bib Tights or the Enduro Bib Knickers 3 depeding on how much warmth you need.

More of a suggestion would love to see the Glaze Jersey 2 with a single zippered rear pocket.

The Final Say

Just like a versatility of a highly skilled and fit cross rider the Glaze Jersey 2 from Louis Garneau is equally capable for multiple tasks making it my go to jersey for cooler weather riding typical here in the Colorado Front Range from late fall to spring time. The high-end construction and fabrics of the Glaze 2 jersey without the high-end price tag at $99.99 delivers my favorite thing about Louis Garneau appeal being, value.

TheGlaze Jersey 2 from Louis Garneau earns our highest rating count em One, Two, Three, Four, Five Cowbells. Buy with confinence you won't be disapointed.
