So I got a Tweet on my phone about this website that had pics of cyclocross on it. And It led me to the web site of professional photographer Balint Hamvas and after looking around and seeing that he had a real passion for capturing the spirit of cyclocross. I noticed that Balint had put together a book of the 2009/2010 UCI World Cup season. I had to get one. Looking at the pictures on the web site you can tell that this guy is pretty good. I thought to myself that if the book is half as cool as Balint's website I knew the book was going to be a winner.

I like it when I'm right about things. Then again this was not a had call to make either. The book is totally first class. Cover to cover it is nothing but full color glossy pictures and results of my passion. The 160 pages covers every World Cup Cross race for the 2009/2010 season for both men and women in brilliant pain and glory. It is obvious to me and to who ever looks at the book that Baliant has the eye and the artistic skills to bring the mud, pain and passion of cyclocross right into your own living room. The pictures are clear, very crisp and offer unique perspectives from over head shots to being so close that not only can you tell if Daphny Van Den Brand used a regular rubber band or not on her golden locks BUT How many times it wraps around the ends. That's pretty impressive. On the men's side of things its pretty cool to see the chunks of sand and mud that are flying up around the action. Balint was able to catch this in mid air and again it looks crisp that its like something you would see out of the Matrix. Balint are you related to Keanu Reeves?

The Final Say

This is the first book of many that any one that races cyclocross will want to have. If you love & race cyclocross you will look at it again and again, Its better than "CATS" really. If you know some one that races cross this is a perfect gift to show that you support and care about them. Their eyes will light up and a big smile will appear on their face as they turn each page. It will also inspire any budding or veteran racer to suite up on the rainiest days and go out into the slime and dig deep into the pain cave. Lastly This book would be PERFECT if you ever get near your heroes as it will serve as a autograph book!

Balint well done, thank you in advance from me and everyone that loves cyclocross! We look forward to seeing more of your work. Hup Hup Hup!
