Specialized Therminal EX Deflect Bib Tights
Review: Specialized Therminal EX Deflect Bib Tights

We Liked
The Therminal EX Deflect Bib Tights are a great piece to have in your race bag. The weather was bad at the 2009 National Cyclocross Championships in Bend, OR. My race was scheduled for the morning, with plenty of snow and ice. I wore the Therminal bib tights with a skin suit and had no problems with the temperature. I was good to go! The windproof front panels really worked and the back panels provided just enough breathability so I would not get too hot. Specialized got it right with this fabric. Like I keep saying, the Devil is in the details. Specialized must think so as well. The Bib Tights have a front zipper for easy on and off. They also put zippers on the ankle that have reflective trim for added safety. Silicone grippers at the bottom of the cuffs will keep the tights at your ankles. Personally, I hate it when tights ride up and expose that little sliver of skin which gets really cold and wind burned. Hate that!
We Didn't Like
It's really hard to find anything that we didn't like about this garment. However, we would like to see a little more style go into the garment. Perhaps reflective piping that goes along the articulated front panels.
The Final Say
The Therminal EX Deflect Bib Tights are high quality in construction from top to bottom. Specialized did not overlook anything in the design of this garment. From materials selection to final assembly, this piece is first rate.
