Pearl Izumi Cyclone Glove
Review: Pearl Izumi Cyclone Glove
By Scott Mares | Published Nov 23, 2009
We Liked
The Cyclone offers a high cuff and other features that make the glove functional and durable. The silicone screened dots offered extra grip in wet environments. They also look cool and high tech.
We Didn't Like
The Cyclone could be improved by using a heavier-weight fabric. We evaluated the 2009 model and have yet to see the 2010 version. We would also like to see a more water resistant glove in future models.
The Final Say
Great glove! We hope that they improve on the Cyclone this upcoming year by making it just a little heavier and more water resistant, but those are the only two thing that we would change about this glove. For race day, it's a great glove to have in your bag.

- Design
- The Cyclone is clearly no exception as it is a great option for Fall weather training and racing. This glove is light weight, with Windstopper and AmFIB materials on the top and anatomical gel padding with articulating seams on the palm. To ensure grip and function there are silicone screened gripper dots on the finger tips and palm. The glove palms are not waterproof, so don’t expect your hands to stay dry in a rain storm. The Cyclone has an extended cuff with a rubber backed Velcro closure to keep the chill out and extend coverage into the sleeve of your jersey. An update of the cycling classic, the new Cyclone glove is feature- laden and built for the demanding needs of winter cyclists. They are definitely in my gear bag on cyclocross race day.
