We Liked

First of all the standard top of the line styling and quality construction that Louis Garneau is known for and this great looking winter jacket is no exception. On the front the Massimo 2 jacket is primarily made of the Winddry 12k 3 ply fabric, that extends to the shoulders & leading edge of the sleeves as well as the front, sides of the collar and the Louis Garneau logo sublimated inner flap under the 2 way zipper that is 1 ½ inches wide for a wind tight seal against the elements. The trailing edge of the sleeves and the wide comfortable cuffs are made from HeatMaXX are also water and wind resistant, though lighter weight and a bit more breathable than the Winddry 12K. On the back of the jacket the SS Trainer fabric makes the majority including the under arm area for unsurpassed breathability. The SS trainer fabric stretches more for a great fit with unrestricted movement. The lower side panels and back of the collar have the HeatMaXX fabric for comfort as well as warmth. The extended tail with interior silicon gripper to keep it put has the Winddry 12K fabric in case of some splash back and turbulance swirl from the rear wheel. Then there are the small details like the stylish reflective logos & striping on the front, sleeves and rear of the jacket along with a silicon loop for attaching a taillight to the extended tail, even the zipper pulls has been thoughtfully designed is a flexible textured rubber with a bit of a hook at the end for easy grip while wearing gloves.

Nothing at all.

The Final Say

I have worn the Massimo 2 Jacket in all kinds of weather ranging from 20-50 degrees, with high winds that are prevalent in the Golden and Morrison valleys and nearby canyons were I train, light rain and snow the jacket kept me warm and dry. When a cold morning turns warm, wearing the Massimo 2 jacket over the LG ECS LS Jersey I never over heated or had accumulated sweat because of the strategically placed fabrics, I just unzipped the two way zipper from the bottom for some more ventilation when climbing. With a ton of technical & practical features the Louis Garneau Massimo 2 Jacket could be the perfect top layer for discerning Cyclist in all but the harshest of weather conditions.
