For as long as I can rember wool has always been my first coice for socks. Wool is non-itching, wicks moisture like crazy and is natuarally anti-microbrial all posible from this fantastic renewable resource. Darn Tough Vermont may not be the first name you think of when you think of cycling socks, but you should and I am going to tell you why. Darn Tough Vermont socks are made by the Cabot Hosiery Mills Inc., a 3rd generation family run business in Northfield, Vermont USA. Owner Ric Cabat backs every pair of Darn Tough Vermont socks with a Unconditional Lifetime Guarantee. If you can wear these socks out Darn Tough Vermont will replace them free of charge. Who else can do that? Second these really are the most comfortable socks I have ever worn straight up no bull. Most importantly these are the most durable cycling socks I have even worn as well. As testament to that fact for the last two months straight I have only worn two pair of the Merino Wool 1/4 Socks. Everything I did from cycling, running, working out on the heavy bag, working, going out or just walking around the homestead in socks only. Basically doing everything I could to wear them out. After 2 months of heavy use I couldn’t discern any wear whatsoever. How does Darn Tough Vermont make such a comfortable and durable sock? It all starts the fine gauge shrink treated Merino wool that is knitted on the latest high tech European seamless knitting machines, 1st of their kind in the US that produces the industries densest 1441 stitches per inch knit. The high stitch count means superior comfort with less bulk that also increases the durability. Design features like Elastic Arch Support knit into the arch of all Darn Tough Vermont socks to provide added endurance and Ring Toe Construction terry loops surrounding the toe create a comfortable invisible seam. All combined the result is socks that are more durable because of the vary same reasons they are also more comfortable. In any case it is hard to say if form follows function or function is a result of form with Darn Tough Vermont Socks, either way your feet will be the winner.

What I liked best about the Darn Tough Vermont Merino Wool 1/4 Sock is the unrivaled comfort, thanks to the oh so smooth ultra fine wool of 1442 stitches per inch the built in elastic arch support, true seamless technology. A big plus is that I will no longer be wasting money on inferior socks that wear out faster than the trendy design on them.
