We Liked
My latest review from Craft is a long time in coming I first received the shorts in the middle of CX season. At the time I was either doing the majority of the training rides indoors and didn’t want to ruin the shorts as trainer wear, or when I was outside I was pushing the limits of bikes I was currently testing so I did not want to take the chance of sliding out a tearing these fantastic bib shorts. The first thing you will notice with the Craft Elite Attack bib short is the ultra sheer feel. This sheer feel dos not come at the expense of support mainly due to the fact that the use of the carbon fabric extensively used. (see the photos the grey on the black is the area the carbon fabric is used). Craft states “The Carbon fiber technology transfers from the bike to the rider. The lightweight carbon fiber fabric enhances thermal regulation and follows the lines of the cyclist’s body to keep the athlete able to work and light on the pedals”. I can tell you this is not just marketing hype, the support and thermal regulation was noticeable. The bib portion uses Craft’s COOL fabric almost like the shear black stocking my girlfriend wears, but with the functional benefit of keeping you cool and comfortable.
Craft did not stop with the Carbon and COOL fabric the exceptional fit and comfort continues with the Elite Gel chamois is perfectly positioned and has multiple thickness zones through the cut so the wearer hardly notices that there is one but will appreciate the comfort on a long ride. 3D fit offers uncompromised form fitting further completing the sheer feel with double flat lock seems the upper bib portions are made from the same sheer material offer support without any binding. Other features are the silicone grippers are as stylish as they are functional holding the leg opening that are not sewn over but a laser cut that continues with the overall sheer feel of the bib shorts.
I have now worn the Craft Elite bib shorts for a period of several months at least two times a week and have not noticed any wear what so ever, even after lots of machine washing the investment into a pair or two of the Craft Elite Attack Bib Short will be well worth the $224.99 retail price.
The unsurpassed quality of materials, construction and fit of the Elite Bib Short. The shear feeling of comfort I wish my team kit had, guess I’ll have to tough it out when racing. Training rides you will see me wearing these no doubt
We Didn't Like
At $224.99 retail the Craft Elite Bib Shorts are pricy, still less than many others though I am sure they will give the wearier many seasons of service.
The Final Say
I do have to say the Craft Elite Attack Bib Short are absolutely the best bib short I have ever worn in my 25 years of cycling. When the discerning cyclist is not willing to compromise anything what so ever the Craft Elite Attack Bib Short is a no brainer choice.
